    Consultations and diagnostic procedures

    The aim of the consultation is to propose a treatment plan, which would address patient’s demands and would be based on the patient’s oral health, general health, complaints. Patient is given with information about the recommended treatment plan, alternatives, advantages and disadvantages, duration and costs of the treatment. In order to achieve highest quality, dental specialists having high competencies in specific subject consult and treat patients – prosthodontists, endodontists, periodontologists, oral surgeons etc. Besides clinical examination, radiological examination (dental, panoramic and sometimes 3D CBCT) may also be needed (Picture 1). In more complex cases, it may be necessary to analyze diagnostic casts, perform diagnostic wax-ups, photography, and examine tempomandibular joints (e.g. MRI) etc. Diagnostic casts (Picture 2) and photographs of clinical situation will help the patient to understand better the aim of the treatment and to visualize the final result.
