“ProDentum” is the only clinic in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe to have sufficient clinical and scientific know-how and experience in applying digital technology in implant dentistry and prosthodontics. The TFW (Total Fit Workflows) protocol was developed, which includes additional measures to improve the accuracy of 3D digital imaging, special image alignment algorithms and specific prosthetic components, biocompatible materials and objective methods for accuracy measurement. “ProDentum” is the first clinic in Lithuania to use this innovative implant placement technique. It is a virtual reality and dynamic navigation-based tooth implant placement procedure. During implant placement, special software informs the clinician where the implant should be placed. This ensures the best implant placement result and reduces the risk of complications and almost eliminates human error.

It is the newest technology, which provides an alternative to conventional impressions. Furthermore, it causes less discomfort for the patient, facilitates technical processes and is useful for diagnosis and implant planning. 3D images from various intraoral scanners are used to inform patients about the health of their teeth, and the images are aligned with computed tomography or facial scanning images. This way, a “digital patient” is made, where more precise treatment planning is possible.

At ProDentum clinic patient examination is done using modern 2D and 3D X-ray equipment to ensure the lowest X-ray exposure. They are used for dental and panoramic X-rays and various volumetric 3D computed tomography tests. It is a method to acquire the most accurate data with minimal patient exposure. Data are stored in digital media and can be viewed by any member of the team. The images are aligned with intraoral scanning images to plan precise implant placement procedures.

Tooth shade determination is one of the most complex stages of aesthetic dentistry. In order to achieve the best results and to determine patient’s tooth shade as accurately as possible we use modern color determination measures: spectrophotometers, polarized filters for digital cameras, special software, intraoral scanners and color calibration measures. The objective tooth shade data acquired using this equipment is easy to store and transfer to the dental lab. To ensure the best accuracy, special lighting system is installed in the clinic.

Implant stability is a very important measure to assess whether loading of implants using provisional or definitive restorations is possible. The speed of dental implant integration differs among patients. This process depends on several factors, such as patient’s physiology, bone quality and amount, dental implant quality and surgical technique. Bone quality and implant stability prognosis is evaluated using special software during treatment planning. In order to ensure that the implant can be loaded, insertion torque is measured. We also use the Osstell device for implant stability measurement. The stability test using this device is very fast and causes no discomfort to the patient.

The specialists in the clinic have considerable experience with various implant systems, such as Nobel Biocare, Dentsply, Camlog, Biohorizons, Megagen, 3M, Neobiotech, Dentium, Straumann, MIS, Osstem, 3I/Zimmer, etc. Therefore we can choose implants most suited to each patient with regards to bone quantity, quality, prosthetic aspects, which may influence the final result. This allows us to provide prosthetic services to patients who received dental implants in other clinics.

To ensure patient comfort and highest quality of work we use only equipment and materials from leading manufacturers. In our practice we currently use products from Ivoclar-Vivadent, KaVo, Kerr, Melag, Noritake, Planmeca, Vita, W&H, 3M, Heraeus and others.

Longer procedures are performed in soft chairs using additional measures for patient comfort. Operative lighting is used for surgical procedures to ensure good visibility and accuracy. For patients suffering from treatment anxiety, we offer treatment under sedation or general anesthesia using equipment from leading manufacturer of anesthetic equipment Dräger.

Restoration of chewing and pronunciation are the primary treatment objectives. However, these functions are closely related to the parameters of the face and smile. In order to ensure the highest standard of aesthetic parameters, we implemented and perfected 2D and 3D image alignment techniques in order to simulate the smile in a digital environment using facial and intraoral scanning data. Dental technicians in our in-house laboratory quickly 3D-print models of the planned smile, which can in turn be transferred into the mouth for a visual check (called a “mock-up”). This way the patient can better evaluate the treatment plan.

For best results, close communication and good coordination between the clinicians and dental technicians is necessary. We are happy to work with out in-house DIGITORUM LAB, which is one of the most modern dental labs in the Baltic states. They have extensive practical and research experience. The lab is constantly developing new manufacturing technology. Equipment from leading manufacturers is used: intraoral and laboratory digital scanners (3Shape), VHF and Imes-icore milling machines, various 3D printers, latest software, shade determination equipment, etc. The use of these devices allows to achieve the highest quality, perfect accuracy and minimize the manufacturing time of aesthetic prostheses.

The cleanliness of the environment and instruments is maintained by strictly adhering to the hygiene guidance. Also, additional optional equipment is used, such as UV lamps, sterilization software, et.c In order to avoid human error, instruments are processed in a Miele automatic washer-disinfector. Special software allows the tracking of sterilization date and cycle. This way, cleanliness and sterility of the highest level is maintained.
